The music flowed gently through the pitch black room, adding to the deepness of the slumber over one of the two forms. A large bed with curtains on each side, to hold as much darkness inside for as long as possible. But still a fan peeking through one corner to keep one of them the right temperature. She laid only an inch from the much larger boy who would go to hell and back for her, but fear raced up her spine as she heard different noises from all around the black room. She closed her eyes tightly so they wouldn't imagine creatures in the darkness, but the images of the makers of those noises still flooded her mind. Her small form shivered beneath her thin blankets and she bit her lip, letting out a soft whimper as her mind pictured one a huge, horrid creature reaching out of the darkness for her. Her fear subsided as she felt him stir beside her, but her head was still too full of monsters and demons waiting in the darkness for her. So she continued shivering. The boy grunted softly and yawned, rolling over to face her. He put one of his arms around her waist and pulled her against him, her back resting against his chest.
"Don't worry... I gotcha..." He yawned and kissed the top of her head gently, placing his free arm under his pillow. She blinked and let out a breath, feeling a sense of security wash over her. A relieved smile spread across her face, and she closed her eyes. She laid her head down on the cloud-like pillows and fell into a sleep as calm as the ocean on a clear night, lacing her fingers through his that were on her waist as she caught up to him, and met him again in her dreams, despite the darkness that surrounded her in a thick blanket.
